Have an apartment hunting trip next week for a new job in LA starting early February - what do I do?

Post Body

Hi everyone, first wanted to say that I don’t mean to come off as insensitive to the severity of the fire and wind weather. I know my trip is way less important compared to everyone who’s either waiting to evacuate, already evacuated and have lost power, their homes and everything they’ve known. I was in LA from June to December for work and feel terrible, hope everyone is staying safe.

My job is in Burbank/Glendale and I was hoping to find a place in Burbank, Glendale, Pasadena (including South), or Alhambra. I already booked tickets a month ago flying to Burbank airport beginning of next week. The hotel I’ll be staying at for a week is in an area of Pasadena that has a Red Flag warning. I also have to ship my car via truck from where I currently am (PNW) and just got assigned a carrier😬. I was also going to call in advance to schedule some apartment tours but that seems kinda insensitive given all the power outages and fire warnings.

I would’ve canceled already if it wouldn’t have cost a crap ton of money. Looking for any insight - cancel? Delay? Continue with the trip? Thank you in advance for the advice
