are there any places I can go camping without a car/get to with public transit?

i really need to get away and spend some time in a quiet nature area to destress for a few days. i have a tent and such, but I do not have a car and renting one is way out of my budget. i love taking the train/bus/etc, are there any camp sites i can get to using those?

i could possibly bring a bike but i also am not very fit so I wouldn’t be able to bike very far or in steep areas. probably like 6 miles would be my maximum walking distance to get to the camp site. i plan on going in early January as that’s the only time I have available until summer so ideally this wouldn’t be a place that gets super cold. i will be bringing my boyfriend and he can help me carry stuff lol. ideally would like to interact with/see as few people as possible, but i know that parks i might have access to are probably busy :(

also, are there any places where having a campfire is allowed? i know wildfires are a huge issue here so i’m not really sure what the rules are but i really want to toast some marshmallows if possible.

thank you!
