We've been doing train rides since we discovered the Metrolink Weekend pass and want to head into L.A again this Black Friday! We're happy to just walk around and look at things. But my to-do list is coming up short.
Things we're planning this trip:
Little Tokyo - sister hasn't gone yet; both of us love figurine/anime/trinket shops.
The Last Bookstore - I want more books! Especially for an hour-long train ride.
LA City Hall - hoping the observation deck is open this Friday? Anyone know?
LA Central Library - if no city hall, this is cool too.
Aaaand that's it. I don't know where else to go. Haven't even decided on food yet. Hoping to branch out in a different direction. Where do we go?
*We don't drink, so no bars unless food comes with it.
We have to take the 4:30 train back into IE so anything within range of LA Union Station is go for us. We can use Metro bus and subway too.
Things we've done so far:
Little Tokyo - had sushi and rice bowls of course.
Chinatown - Canto food was amazing, Ch-Am Museum was very informative. Loved the old firehouse.
Molina Grand Park - Wish the fountain had been on but guess it was too warm that day.
Walt Disney Concert Hall - seeing an actual concert here is now on my bucket list.
The Broad - not as impressed. Inside would probably be more interesting, but I'm not interested in art.
Grand Central Market - another renovated packing house food court, unless there's something I'm missing? IE has plenty of those.
The Last Bookstore - Was pretty cool! Also lost my whole group in here.
Pretty standard fare. I feel like we've done all we can, but at the same time, our list feels a bit short.
PS - LA Mall needs a renaming. The heck kinda mall is that?
