How much time to budget for a drive from Anaheim to LA on NYE?

Hey, on NYE, I will be traveling to and from Anaheim to watch the Devils vs Ducks game at the Honda Center on NYE. We are hoping to be able to drive back to our hotel in DTLA before midnight on New Year’s Eve after the game (planning to leave by 8:30pm at the latest), but realize that may not be possible. We’ve heard that the drive can take 2 hours in busy traffic (though I suspect NYE is another matter) and are wondering if it is realistic to be able to get back in time before the clock strikes twelve? If not, are there places in Anaheim to see fireworks?
