Is LA actually similar to Berlin?

I was researching the sister cities of LA and found out Berlin is one of our sister cities. I did some more research and saw people saying that Berlin being sister cities with LA actually makes sense because the 2 cities have a lot in common. It really surprised me that out of all cities in the world, Berlin would be one of the most similar to LA. Im not sure if this is the right subreddit to ask this in, but are LA and Berlin actually similar?

Edit: I know what sister city means, I just heard that Berlin has many similarities to LA and was surprised to hear that, and wanted to see if its true
