Mosquitoes!

I keep getting bitten in a linear form for the past 4-5 nights in LA. Imagine like 3-4 small, red, itchy and swollen bumps in line. First I thought it's mosquitoes like nothing to worry. But I don't see any mosquitoes or flies at home so I googled it and it says only bed bugs bite in a linear form like this. I got all my furniture brand new 5 months ago and I checked my bed and coach for hours but don't see any bed bugs or fleas. Also got bed bug traps but nothing is caught yet. What do you think it could be? Do mosquitoes in LA bite like this?
