Non-LA residents (or transplants who used this sub when moving), what do you find different about the AskLA sub compared to your local sub?

Post Body

As someone born and raised in LA, who travels a lot and uses other cities' subs to find recs, I feel like some people are extra hostile on this sub when people need recommendations. Of course the city is one of the top visited and moved to in the world, so we get a lot of repeat posts (and some silly ones asking about moving here with no money, no ties, and no job), but other than the blatantly silly posts; are people in this sub generally helpful?

Aside from our local celeb Rob Burgundy and the chronic jumbos responses, is there anything noticeable about our sub? Do you think you get good suggestions for where to go out, or how to make friends? Or is it the same suggestions, suggesting staying at home, and finding friends from volunteering?

I love my neighbors, I love the city of LA so much I could never imagine moving out. I think people here are genuinely some of the most caring people in the world (even though they have a silly way of showing it), but I'm curious if we have any bias or groupthink some of us wouldn't notice?
