So I attend this hackerspace every week and often times very few people are there and I have no one to hang with. I attend another hacker meetup too which is once a month where I always have multiple people to hang with who are good friends.
However, that other meetup is only once a month. I will keep attending the monthly meetup. The weekly meetup on the other hand I want to partially replace at least.
I’m more into hacking, martial arts, etc and not so much anime video games, marvel, etc. I am thinking of getting into a new interest maybe like an art meetup possibly but…
The best meetup for me is something where I can meet a variety of neurodivergent people. I do have an xbox and play online but I’m more obsessed with ethical hacking and not so much gaming. Tho I could use an expansion of interests.
Can someone help me out here?
I’m a very adventurous person but I’m not typical. I fit in at 2600 meetings and I used to fit in somewhat in mental health support groups. But among traditional autism support groups I kind of didn’t do well socially because they are mainly into board games, anime, video games, etc, which I am somewhat ok with but again its not an obsession and I don’t like to drone on about it the way I do tech. But I love to explore and have adventures.
If there’s another tech meetup that takes place during the week focusing on programming or hacking that could work. Or if there’s a graphic design meetup that could be something I’m open to. But if there’s a meetup focused on more grown up neurodivergence but with special interests that would be perfect.
