LA to San Diego - what about the in between?

Post Body

Coming from the UK and planed a fly drive trip in July from LA to San Diego, circling back to LA (better flights) after 9 days.

Having a couple of nights in LA before we set off on our drive, what area would you recommend we stay (hotel/Airbnb)? The wife only wants to see the selling sunset office…I’m a foodie so as long as there’s a good diner/food joint then Im pretty happy. We’ve done Beverly Hills and explored Venice beach so it would be nice to see a different part.

We’ve booked into a place in Newport for a night also.

We have another night available in a coastal town on the way back up from San Diego. Any recommendations? I appreciate this is outside for LA so understand if you can’t help.

On the way back from San Diego, our final stop is at silver lake just before we take our flight back.

We’ve looked at this previously, given that we’re going to both LA and San Diego I think it’ll be nice to have a small town vibe where things are less commercialised

Is it walking on water cafe? If so the menu looks incredible and rather affordable at a glance

If it’s got great food then I’m so there! Loved watching Triple D on food network and wanting to experience first hand what some of the places have on offer

I’ll certainly take a look - thanks!
