Those of you that have lived in many major cities, what (if anything) do you do for work?

Post Body

Asking this here because on every "moving to LA" thread people always comment that they have lived in tons of different cities.

I'm really curious, mostly from a financial standpoint, of how people are able to move from city to city. Some people have lived in NYC, Chicago, Detroit, LA, etc. It's not easy to just up and move, especially to these super expensive cities, so how/why does it seem like people easily move between all these places like it's a quick jaunt to the park?
