Is it normal to wait over a month for a Drs appointment?

Hello! How long does everyone normally wait for an appointment? I phoned about something and was told the next appointment would be a month, which seems a bit drastic compared to what I was used to in Canada. Is this normal or do I just have a really busy clinic?
