Etiquette in theatres?
Post Body

This is probably more rant than question but I wonder if it’s just me aging….mobile phones in the theatre, what is the etiquette?

Etiquette in the theatre to me is switching the phone off altogether, maybe switching it on at interval to pay for drinks but I feel this is changing.

I went to the London Coliseum on Friday night and I was shocked at the amount of mobile phone usage during the show. One person on our row was filming/taking photos and the attendant had to come along and tell them no.

Another guy arrived late, started having a WhatsApp conversation where he sent his ticket to someone else and she joined at the interval….kept checking her phone and left 20mins from the end and two separate ringtones through the performance. I could see in the boxes there were three people with phones on laps scrolling.

So I wonder what the etiquette is now?
