My partner and I live on a flat with 2 floors only, we don’t have a video doorbell. We were expecting a delivery and someone buzzed our flat to be let in. I usually ask who it is before buzzing them in but this time I had no response. It was raining outside and we were expecting a delivery so I quickly buzzed them in. They knocked on our door and there was a man maybe 55-60 say that he lives nearby and his electricity and gas have been cut off. He asked us for £8. My partner and I never open our door fully because our cat likes to run out. So we quickly said sorry we can’t help and to ring the council for support. The man quickly left but it was strange to ask for exactly £8 and to knock on our door (we are on the 1st floor). Wondering if anyone has a similar experience.
