My husband and I have been living in Marylebone for the past year and a half in a 2 bedroom flat. I never completely loved this current flat, but dealt with it as it does tick a lot of boxes. We have unfortunately had a leaky roof for the past few months and it looks like they have to change our whole roof, which could take months and could be quite disruptive. Due to this, I’m seriously thinking of moving as I work from home and don’t think it will be the best environment to stay in while repairs are carried out.
An amazing flat came up for rent in Hampstead right next to Hampstead Heath, and although it’s only 15 mins away by car and 20 mins by tube, my husband isn’t convinced about moving to this area. I’ve tried to reason with him and explain that now we’re in our 30’s, we should probably move out of central/zone 1 London and find somewhere quieter and leafier to be in. I love Hampstead and how well connected it is to everything, whilst being quieter and more charming. Our street in Marylebone is very cool but it’s quite loud and buzzy, and I feel like moving that further bit out not only gets us better value for our money, but also brings more charm and peace to our lives.
Would love any thoughts/opinions, or anything that would help convince him – thank you!
