Are shops cheaper in zone 2 and 3 than zone 1?

Post Body

I just arrived in London and I've been offered a room in a flat in shoreditch. I didn't want to go into zone 1 but at the same time it's hard to get a offer here, it's 1000 pounds without bills for an ok place which I'd be fine with living in. The only issue is I noticed shops in this area have insane prices? Not cafes and bars but places id do my shopping like coops.

Sorry if this is a stupid question but I just arrived here and will not have the time to go into each area and look at the expenses for groceries with dragging out the offer and potentially losing it.
