Living in Wimbledon, what is it like compared to other places specifically along the Northern line?

I was looking into staying in Wimbledon. It seems affordable, but how is it staying there for as a younger person? Compared to say Tooting or Clapham? I assume its a lot more quiet, anyone with good knowledge of the area or who has stayed there, please let me know. Thank you.
