I (F30) have felt like this since primary school. I’ve always had friends but I’ve always felt like a bit of an outsider in whatever friendship group I’m in.
It’s become a bit more pronounced as I’ve gotten older. Most of my interests aren’t shared by my peers and I find I don’t have all that much in common with people who like the same hobbies I do. I thought I’d ‘find my tribe’ by joining social activities where people do things I absolutely love doing alone: hiking, reading, travelling. But it just highlights the things I enjoyed about them when doing them alone.
Typing this out makes me realise I might be a bit more of a loner than I realised. Anyways keen to hear others experiences.
