So I'm planning to move to London. I live in Tunbridge Wells and I've already handed in my notice so I'll be free from September. I moved to the UK with the plan to live in London but I wasn't experienced enough to earn a decent salary. Now EVERY person who lives in London tells me not to move. They tell me it's a shithole. Like I get that the cost of living is high and that renting a house is hard and things. But I haven't met any person who actually lives in London who told me it's a great idea. So, opinions?
I'm the artsy type, I really want to sing, I don't care if it's on the street but I wanna meet like minded people and just make art. And if I can sing in bigger places and do bigger things, so be it! But I'm not fussed. I am so bored in Tunbridge Wells, I just want to meet different people from different nationalities and do plans and enjoy life a bit ?? I'm aiming for a 40k salary, I don't mind sharing a flat, in fact I kind of miss it (I share with live in landlords and it's horrible). The only thing I would say I'm a bit worried about is that it seems unsafe. I'm F28 and I walk around Tunbridge Wells at night and I feel safe (ish). And the fact you cannot legally use pepper spray worries me. But other than that... is it really bad to live in London?
