Hi hello hey
I was falsely accused of SA when I was in my first year of college.(Dec 2012) They listed the charge/arrest as a sexual felony. THE CHARGES WERE DROPPED just over a month later. (JAN 2013) for no info/no evidence.
Once the charges were dropped I assumed it would fall off my background check at some point.
For the most part with small jobs that don't run federal checks its not been a big issue. But there have been several jobs ive applied to over the past few years that do that and I'm getting rejected from these jobs because they are seeing this charge and even though the charge was dropped they don't care, they still deny me.
I havnt had any charges since.
Is it legal for them to hold it against me for something I didn't do/wasn't convicted? Especially since this happened 11-12 years ago?
Is it possible I could have a case for wrongful arrest, and damages, since I've been denied from several jobs because of this?
