Living in one state owning a house in another
Post Body

My situation is a little different than someone buying two houses with one in a different state. I am moving from Michigan to Wisconsin and I currently have a mortgage and house in Michigan. My GF lives in Wisconsin and owns a house herself. I am moving to live with my GF in Wisconsin permanently but I don't want to sell my current house and I don't want to rent it out either as I don't want to worry about someone ruining my house. Can I legally leave my house how it is and live in Wisconsin without doing any refinancing?

I've tried to do some reading on this but everything is about people buying a second home and having their name on two mortgages but I won't have my name on any mortgage in Wisconsin but I will be making my GF's house my new residence and becoming a permanent citizen of Wisconsin. Or can I leave my permanent residence as Michigan and stay a citizen of Michigan but work and live in Wisconsin?
