I am fighting eviction in alexandria VA. I have tried speaking with the building manager about a payment plan for back rent. I was told I had to contact the billing office. I sent them a detailed email about why rent was late. They replied telling me I had to call the office. When I did the person told me they were not authorized to make a payment plan, only the lawyer(outside law firm) could discuss payment plans am that had to be done in court. I went to court spoke with the lawyer who told me they have no legal authority to do so since they are an outside law firm. I was directed to call the billing office again.
My question, any advice on how to proceed? I plan to call the billing office on Monday but I am looking for recommendations to increase my chances of being successful in getting a payment plan and not get evicted.
