[NC] Firetruck totaled my car while it was in a parking lot. What do I do?

This car has been paid off and I’ve been using it as my daily. Got a call while I was golfing with friends that a firetruck made a uturn through the parking lot and accidentally slammed into the front of my car. It’s likely totaled now. I’m already struggling to afford rent as it is, I didn’t need another car payment and bills to just hit me out of left field while I did everything right in ownership of this thing. Do I need a lawyer? Or do I just let insurance talk?
