Hey so I’m 20 years old, have 2 years no claim bonus. Already paying over 3 grand for insurance.
I was driving yesterday in stop and go traffic and I think I hit a patch of ice and my car wouldn’t break. Hit someone’s car. She was very kind and we exchanged insurance and took pictures of each others cars and I took responsibility. I told her I would pay her cash for the repairs as it only looked like her bumper was damaged. Today I got a call and she told me she got quoted 3,000 for repairs. She agreed to get a quote from my mechanic also so hopefully that might work out better for me. But if it doesn’t I think I would have to go through insurance.
What will I have to pay for in this case? Does the insurance sort everything out and at the end of the year my price for insurance will go up? Has anyone had a claim on them and how did it affect their price?
