Hey 24F here from the USA, curious about how to go about immigrating to Ireland. I have my masters in Museums and Cultural preservation and was hoping to move to Ireland to get my PhD. I've been learning Gaelic in my free time the past couple months as well as studying Irish history. When I visit countries I like to be a respectful visitor and not a rude tourist, and was wondering if there is anything pressing I should know about immigrating. After the election in my country I just don't want to be here anymore It doesn't feel safe. I'd be immigrating with my cat 5F and other than vaccinations was curious if anyone had experience with that.

Just a note I'm particularly interested in Galway and western Ireland.
