I have new housemate this year and we're discussing what's appropriate. I think 40 mins or so in the morning around when we get up, and then maybe 2 hours in the evening 17.30-19.30, would be my suggestion. I also think it should be on for an hour or so in the middle of the day on the weekends when we're likely to be home. (none of us WHF)

One says that's not enough and it should basically be on all evening. The other says that's way to much, it shouldn't be programmed at all and we should just throw it on when we need it. Curious to see what other Irish households do?

EDIT: Just a note, this isn't a "woe is me, I'm so poor" post. The program I suggested (with a few boosts as needed and a stove in the living room) is what I'd ideally like even if money was no object. Just curious as to what others do.
