Is there a way for non academic history lovers to subscribe to scholarly historical journals without institutional access?
Post Body

Iā€™m thinking of sites like JHU which have articles Iā€™d love to read and that were published in 2021/22, but appear blocked until the paywall is lifted after several years.

Iā€™d hate to wait that long!

Sure. You pay them money. The cost to subscribe to journals varies from irritatingly pricey ($30/year for a quarterly publication) to prohibitively expensive. For examples click subscribe on any of these journals published by jhu

You can also look to open access publications. Examples include but are not limited to: https://open-access.network/en/information/subject-specific-open-access/historical-studies
