As an introverted woman, now is probably the best time in history for someone like me. What would my prospects have looked like in, for example, urban colonial America?

I suspect this is probably a difficult question to answer, given the general lack of writing about women throughout history.
Did prospective husbands particularly care if their wives were seen as cold and/or distant? Would such a woman be passed over for marriage?
What sorts of options did women have if they were old maids and spinsters, and what did these loner women do with their free time in an era before they were typically taught to read?
