Do we know if any ancient Greek city-states ever made concerted efforts to buy back enslaved citizens?
Post Body

Greek city states being sacked by Persians or each other wasn't uncommon, so there were lots of opportunities for citizens to be dragged off into slavery. Do we have any examples of the rebuilding city-states attempting to buy back their enslaved former citizens en-masse, or peace treaties mandating citizens be repatriated from slavery (as opposed from captivity)?
