The effectiveness of fire based weaponry against naval vessels.
Post Body

The time period does not have to be very precise, what I'm wondering is if a ship is made of wood, what is the likely hood that something like a volley of fire arrows could set it alight.

I know of Greek fire that was used to set ships on fire. But that seems like a very intricate system. How resistant were ships against general fire attacks?
