Basically the title? Haven't really gotten to that part of my research yet as I'm still tediously picking through every detail of Darius' invasion, and was hoping for a bit of a primer on that span in ancient Greece. What were the politics between city states. How much was Athens gloating over their victory at Marathon/disparaging the other cities for not helping? What if any preparations were being made for a second invasion?
And do you have any suggestions for books or articles that give this time period special attention?
