This question has been asked before in the prior years but its never replied to, maybe someone will be able to provide an answer? The Roman period is much more recent than the Ancient Greek period, so much so that the last emperor is an orthodox saint! Christianity which is the official religion of Greece didn't arrive until the Roman period. It could be argued that Greece is the legitimate heir to the Roman Empire.
