I was a history major in college (years ago) and always enjoyed the subject. However, I’ve recently been thinking about how little I know about Asian history and culture even though that’s 1/3 to half of the world. Even when it comes to World War 2, the Pacific theater is often overlooked in favor of the European war efforts.
Is this sort of Asian blind spot common to most in the west? If so, why? And what are some starter articles or books to help fill this gap. I’m especially interested in elements of Asian history and culture that have influenced or are influencing the west. Many thanks for your time.
