How did women living in Eastern Europe after World War 2 cope with trauma stemming from widespread sexual violence during the war?
Post Body

Many people, when talking about the European Theater in WW2, bring up gendered violence, in particular sexual violence committed by soldiers crossing Eastern Europe into Berlin. After the war, these countries became USSR satellite territories. Did the USSR provide resources for women who were affected by gendered violence during WW2? Did these women create their own support groups? Did this trauma had a lasting effect on gender relations between women and the state?
