Was lactose intolerance a major cause of death for slaves during the Trans-Atlantic slave trade?

I remember reading about how large numbers of Centeral Americans and Africans tended to be lacrose intolerant, i think it was mentioned that between 70-90% of africans were intolerant to milk, did this intolerance to milk cause a large number slaves to die during the slave trade, as i'm assuming that it was a staple source of protein for the slaves. Was it ever recorded as being a major contributor of deaths for slaves during this period and if so how significant was the problem?
