How available was hard liquor to the common people/ peasants of the middle ages?
Post Body

As the title says I saw that liquor was being distilled as early as 1100 AD in a thread from three years ago, but it wasn't really the most informative. Was it readily available for people of the peasant classes of the time and common people? Or was it for royalty of that time?
