Romans were engineers and Ancient Greeks were mathematicians?
Post Body

I've notice Romans are well known for their engineering works (and military prowess) such as the coliseum, aqueducts, roadways, etc., and Ancient Greeks are generally known for their philosophical and mathematical prowess such as Pythagoras, Plato, Archimedes, Euclid, etc.

Is there an insight as to why this is? I know that the Romans did do math (Roman numerals) and that the Ancient Greeks had engineering related things like the Parthenon for example, but in general we see the Romans as engineers and the Greeks and philosophers and mathematicians.
