Why did the Sons of Liberty dress up as indigenous people during the Boston Tea Party?
Post Body

From what I've encountered, it sounds like they were trying to impersonate the Mohawk. I am confused as to why they would do this especially after Boston was largely devoid of British soldiers following the Boston Massacre. I mean they had a crowd that is estimated to be in the thousands watch them dump the tea in the harbor. If for some reason their plan went south were they hoping to use indigenous people as scapegoats, or was it something else?
