How accurate were Roman maps of their empire by the late 2nd century AD? How common were these maps?
Post Body
Was there a noticeable difference in the quality of Roman maps of long held areas like Italy vs newer and more foreign areas like Palestine/Israel? Were good maps limited to government officials and military personnel or could individuals with cash to burn acquire them without too much trouble?
