Does taking 50,000 units of Vitamin D weakly better than taking 5,000 units daily?

Which is better? Or how is it different?
EDIT: I guess my main question is, with vitamin D, is it better to take a tone once in a while vs a smaller dose on a regular basis. For example 50,000 once a week vs 10,000 5 days a week (same amount in both options). And in what way is one better?
