Author Summary
Post Body
I have worked for a University for 14 years and just recently took a chance on applying for a position outside of academia. Right now, the potential new employer is checking my references. My references are from my current employer.
If I donβt get the new job or accept the new job, things might get weird with my current employer.
Should I be concerned about any possible ramifications from my current employer because they know that I am now on the job market?
Can they push me out? Lay me off? Fire me?
