Im a junior in college applying for financial internships. The summer after my freshman year I stupidly got caught with a joint in my car and was arrested in NJ. I got it downgraded to a municipal violation similar to a ticket. I’ve now been offered an internship at Merrill and I know my arrest will show up since I’ve had a background check before. What is Merrill’s policy on prior arrests? I’ve since quit smoking weed and have had no trouble with the law since. I’m eligible to get it expunged but I don’t have the $3000. They like me at the office but I’m worried I could get cut for this. Anybody know what will happen?
