I interviewed with company A, everything went well and they sent me a job offer letter. During the negotiation, I don't know what went wrong but they took back the job offer without giving any reason. They offer me a lower position but ghost me for about 2 weeks, no communication with me during that time. Now they came back and told me that they will honor the original offer. However, I already signed another job offer with company B for different position. This position at company B pays almost $15k LESS than company A. Company A and B have business with each others. Both companies are under same group of family.
Question: 1. Would you work for a company that take back job offer and ghost you? 2. If I want to back out after signing job offer, how can I not to burn the bridge with them? 3. How often it happens in the HR world? Do the candidates get block from joining in the future?
Updated: I decided to decline the offer with company A and went with company B. At the end of the day, I don't feel confident to work with company A, I don't want them take me in for few days/months then lay off me. Communication with company B has been spot on and I'm glad that they following up with me to confirm the start date after finishing background check and drug test.
Thanks everyone for giving me advice!
