Hi HR - My fiance recieved a letter titled General Notice of Cobra Continuation Rights in the mail this week. Her director and several other Dir/Asst Dirs recieved one as well. They are still employed but have been informed that workforce reduction is coming this month, as early as next week. Did this letter get sent prematurely and the writing is on the wall?

A couple points based on what I've read.
- This is a large, multi state hospital system, layoffs will be widespread.
- There has been no change in benefits that she is aware of that would elicit a COBRA notice. - Two years ago she was on the chopping block purely on the basis of her salary. Of course, she makes even more now in the same position.

I don't feel great about what's coming. Even if she isn't laid off, the lackadaisical, callous approach is disgusting and shows this company is not in her best interest, long-term.

The funny part is -- if she and her director are laid off, the company will trigger immediate fines from the state because the company will not be in regulatory compliance (can't share those details, sorry)

EDIT -- The CEO & COO also got a letter. Looking a little less dire. Thank you to everyone who told me not to stress.
