I work in an office with 50 employees, in a building mostly compromised of cubicles with a couple of offices for upper management. Currently my teammate and I are not getting along.
Iâve been with this company for almost two years, she has been there longer. When I started I noticed she would refuse phone calls (leaving them to roll over to our teammates) and completely ignored her customers when they emailed in with questions. I am the type of person who goes in and does the job I am paid for, with little to no regard for peoplesâ personal lives. She is the type to talk loudly at her desk about her medical issues, her daughters medical issues, her political beliefs, and how she hates Mexicans because theyâre âillegal and criminalsâ.
So now Iâve set the stage.
We were having an issue with phones this past week. I had suggesting a few different work arounds in our team group chat that I know work, because I had been utilizing them all day. This one specific coworker chimed in to tell me I was wrong, and wouldnât listen to what I had to say. After a few exchanges I gave up, because I can still do my work, so really itâs no skin off my back.
The next thing I know, she posts a meme in our team chat that says âNAMASTE right here before I hurt someoneâ. I also had multiple people coming up to me to tell me they were trying to do their work and could only hear her and our coworker (who sheâs best friends with) âtalking shitâ about me and calling me a âbitchâ. I took all of this to HR Wednesday, and still nothing has been done.
Shouldnât she have repercussions for her behavior? My manager said she supports me but this is in HRâs hands. What avenues do I have to peruse here, if any? Aside from looking for another job, thatâs already at the top of my list.
