[IL] Potential employer asking for second interview while I’m out of town

Post Body

As the title states I’m on vacation and just saw I received an email requesting my availability to have a second interview with a prospective employer. They want to do it virtually which is great but I’m in Europe at the moment until the end of the week. They added a link to a calendar in the email for me to put down my availability.

What I’m wondering is, should I email back and explain I’m in Europe and that I’m willing to work with them on the 8 hour time zone difference if they’d like to do this sooner? Or should I just say I’m out of town until the end of the week and not available until the weekend at the earliest? Or should I just fill out the calendar part showing I’m not available until the weekend?

My main concern is I’m paranoid that if I email them to mention the vacation part they’ll get upset that I didn’t follow instructions and just use the scheduling tool. The first interview was virtual and automated so there was no chance to let them know ahead of time. Part of me feels like it could be a positive in my favor that I tell them “hey I’m halfway across the world right now but I’m so interested in the job I’m willing to make this work so lmk what works for you instead” but Im overthinking like crazy it feels like.

Any and all advice/recommendations on how to proceed would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!
