Pharmacist asks statuts to buy prep
Post Body

I'm not easy to humiliate, and I'm not humiliated... Just perturbed...

I've been noticing recently, that's its harder for me to get my Prep prescription. At 1st, this online company Mistr was sending me the tests and the Prep meds in the mail for free...

Well within the last few months Mistr started saying that Medicaid in my state won't allow Mistr to prescribe Descovoy which was the medicine I had been on... So all they would give me was Truvada which was ok because at least I was still getting Prep for free.

Probably last month, Mistr started saying that Medicaid won't allow them to send me medication from Mistr's pharmacy in Florida, so they have to send it to my pharmacy and I have to pay for it now.. I was still ok with this even though $26.50/month does eat away at me saving....

However, today I tried to get my Prep from Safeway across from my house... I finally got insurance from my job as a cannabis cultivator (I was laid off and had to switch company's over the summer). So I go to my neighborhood Safeway and hand them the insurance card... i started noticing a hold up...Then at some point, the pharmacist asks me if this medication is treatment or a preventative... I didn't really think that should matter... i was standing in the front of the line of all these people with the pharmacist asking me if i have HIV (that was so fucked up)... After about 20 minutes of them typing keys and trying to check and re check, they said my insurance was rejected at Safeway, and either I would have to pay full price or get my Prep Prescription re routed to another pharmacy....

Not a question... I'm just pissed... I work 10 hour days, but my job's insurance doesn't work at the Safeway Pharmacy?...

It's a life saving medication, but it's becoming harder for me to get it
