The title says it all. How does one handle a hacking situation that results in a nude of yours getting posted to Instagram and Facebook stories on your account…?
Trying to help someone close to me through a situation where he honestly and sincerely doesn’t know how a nude made it onto his Instagram and Facebook account (stories). It was posted for 10-15 min max and seen by >200 (he estimates, but could have been for longer seen by more). It was likely a hack of some nature - there are too many steps for it to have been accidentally posted without catching oneself… ‘which filter do you want?’ / ‘enable cross post to Facebook?’ are all steps where in a normal person would have caught themselves…
They have deactivated Instagram & Facebook, and reset their passwords on their phone and other important accounts.
Besides the practical advice to reset passwords and enable two-factor authentication - what are ways to acknowledge this happened (casually) and brush off the situation in a clever (even humorous) manner? What might be said to different audiences (family, ‘Close Friends’, friends)?
What’s your best ‘Kris Jenner’ manner of coaching forward in this situation..?
