It’s on PBS in the US, and apparently Alibi in the UK. It’s about a woman striving to be a private detective in Victorian London, and the sexism she experiences, embedded in a good mystery format.

One of the secondary characters is gay, with one of the episodes touching upon the struggles of gay life back then. As a mystery, please avoid spoilers, but I had to say something about the connection to this group.

My husband finds the actor playing the Duke to be easy on the eyes, though he’s not exactly my type.
