Can those with mental illness be successful in relationships?
Post Body

Hi, I’m AJ from Southeast Asia. I was diagnosed with BPD and OCPD by a psychiatrist and am undergoing psychotherapy. I have stopped medication for a year now, as my doctor suggested, but I still have to complete modules in psychotherapy. I have abandonment issues, which stem from dealing with the death of my late father due to cancer. This has affected my relationships with others. My last relationship, which ended 5 years ago, was toxic, and I decided to leave (we were in a triangle, and I was the third wheel).

I’ve tried going on dates a few times but failed miserably due to my habit of abandoning others first so they don’t abandon me. My therapist is currently working on this issue with me. So, do you think I would be able to have successful relationships in the future if I'm ready to be part of a relationship?

I’m very curious to know if any of the bros have partners who are living with mental illness. I would love to hear your stories.

P/S: I need a huggggg right now.
