I have a urinary tract infection. Common?
Post Body

Went to my physical, and blood tests revealed a urinary tract infection.

I think I've had this once or twice over the decades. I am 64. Maybe it's common in both young and old?

They prescribed two pills daily for 10 days.

I assume it's not even necessarily related to sexual activity? I've only been with 2 or 3 different guys in the past 18 months, all just one encounter. No anal, just oral. I wonder if giviing or getting oral is a high risk for the infection... or maybe it can just happen regardless..

I wonder if one should or must refrain from sex until finishing the meds.

And maybe without meds, it might go away anyway?

Forgot to ask the nurse whom I just spoke with on the phone, so asking here.

Sorry for so many questions.

Thanks!
